What are the Proprietary Security Officer (PSO) Requirements?
The Proprietary Security Officer (PSO) Training Class is a two day, sixteen hour training
class. Registration starts at 8:00 am and class ends by 4:00 pm each day. The cost of the PSO Class Only is $160 if paid on the
day of the class, or $150 if paid in advance. Live Scan fess ($69) and
State application fees ($50) are separate. You may also buy the PSO Class Package which includes the two day class, Live Scan Fingerprinting Session and the application and submitted State Application fee for $280.
The Proprietary Security Officer (PSO) Training Class is only offered to groups of 10 or more at this time, and must be paid in advance to reserve an Instructor and Classroom.
The
course meets the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS)
training requirements for the initial PSO Training and covers the following;
Unlike other training facilities, at LPG, students can complete the Live Scan fingerprinting requirement and LPG will submit and the BSIS PSO application and application fee by mail. The on-site Live Scan fingerprinting fee for the initial Security Guard Card is $69, which includes the DOJ/FBI background fees. The BSIS Guard Card application fee is $50.
After
the three required steps: 1) PSO Training Class, 2) Live
Scan fingerprinting and 3) Submit the BSIS PSO application and
application fee, the standard processing time for the BSIS to issue the PSO Registration is approximately 30 business days.
All fees are Non-Refundable.
